Lovin' little Brock

We had the chance to care for a friends baby the other day. Genevieve totally adored this little fella. He was such an easy happy baby.

Genevieve made sure Brock always had a toy to play with.

She also wanted to make sure he was warm. However, she kept putting it over his face.

The car seat and bouncer were also very entertaining to Miss Genevieve.

She really is smiling in these photos. It kinda looks like a crabby face, but that is just her "Cheese" face.

Tyler also enjoyed having a baby in our house again. He had Brock laughing. Too cute!

This baby was so easy to tend to! We'll take care of him anytime, Val! =)

So, did any of my St. George friends notice this sale in the Albertson's add?
Well, you should look at it today!

There are coupons at www.coupons.com that go along with the add
PLUS there are 3 double coupons in the Albertson's add too.
The end result......

My total came to $4.67
Not my best deal, but not bad for all the name brand goodies.
Most of it will come in handy for our trip next week.
FYI: There weren't coupons for the cereal, but it still made a good buy because some of my coupons - when doubled - made those items cost negative .33 cents. you can only print one of each coupon per computer....luckily I have 2 computers at home. And you can only use 3 double coupons per visit.
Anyway, you have until next Tuesday to get there! You can do it!
Call me if you need any help.
By the way MOM, I'll be coming by to print more coupons and pick up your double coupons. =)

More Summer Fun

Another idea from the Family Fun magazine.
I took the boys over to Home Depot and picked up all kinds of supplies. We then came home and spent a lot of time creating then playing then creating some more.

The boys drilled holes in some caps and pipes so the water could shoot out.

Tyler noticed that the funnel was overflowing.......so he used a spray nozzle to help squirt out some of the water. Good thinkin' Tyler!

Genevieve thought this cap looked a little like a drinking fountain.

I left for a baby shower and came home to see that Dad had helped to created an even bigger and better water area. He found some cool things like a hose attachment and something that will direct the water in another direction when turned. The boys learned a great lesson while I was gone........Dads are much cooler than Moms.

You can't really see where the water is shooting out in this next photo, but Tyler had it shooting out the top and sides of the pipe. It was just like something that you would find at the splash pad. So fun!

We have spent many more hours outside creating new paths for the water to flow.

I can't wait to see my next water bill.
By the way, did you notice the blue bird feeder in the background of some of the photos? That was designed and built by my cutie pie Hayden. This morning I saw 5 bids eating out of it at the same time and 2 more birds on the fence...waiting for their turn? or watching out for trouble? I'm not sure, but Hayden sure has attracted many birds to our yard with his feeder. He decided not to put a roof on the house in the middle so that he could fill it with building supplies for the bird's nests. My Hayden....what a clever and thoughtful fella.

Summer Fun

How do you keep cool in St. George?
PLAY WITH ICE!
The boys helped me make our ice blocks with colored water. We let them freeze overnight.
Then we had about two hours worth of fun with them.

Tyler tried building with them, but they were too slippery.
So, Hayden came up with an idea to play hockey with an ice cube for the puck and little bowls to hit them with. That kept them occupied for a while.

Genevieve thought they tasted good.

Another fun summer activity that we found in the Family Fun magazine was to take an empty water bottle - cut off the bottom - cover it with a damp towel - and dip it into some soapy water - then blow!
This is what happens.

It makes the best bubble snakes. Just don't inhale like Tyler did. =) YUCK!

If you have any fun activities for us......let me know! We get awfully bored sometimes!

Sea World

Our last adventure before returning home.......Sea World! What a fun day! Grandma ans Grandpa Cable came with us which made it an extra special day.

I sure love my Hayden's personality!

Genevieve sat like this for a few minutes after the pig in the Pets Rule show set off the TNT and water shot out at us. I had to pull her hands away so she could enjoy the rest of the show.

Grandma, Hayden and Tyler in awe of the famous Shamu.

We only had time to see two shows, but we will be back in three weeks. Yeah!
After Sea World we stopped off at Uncle Dennis and Aunt Jeni's house for dinner. Thanks Dennis! It was so yummy.
Now we are back home with an empty fridge and a hot house. We definitely got used to the cooler California temperatures.

Visiting friends

Adry and Dan were so kind to have us over for dinner while we were in town. It was fun catching up with Adry while all our kids played.

Mickey's Grove Park

Hayden and Tyler got a chance to feed the birds in the Mickey's Grove Zoo. Tyler's bird grabbed his bowl and threw it down so I don't have any photos of Tyler. Hayden learned from Tyler that you have to hold on to the bowl really tight. Hayden got the attention of three birds.

I have a photo of me on this same bridge when I was just a little girl. This bridge is in the Japanese Garden. We saw a duck while we were in there and fed it some teddy grahams. The duck came out of the water and followed us very closely when we were all out of snacks. We took off running and it just ran right behind us. Kinda creepy!

Aunt Louise's house

We drove up to Valley Springs to visit with Aunt Louise, Joshua and Cierra Tunquist. She has a lot of animals that the kids loved! We saw 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 horses, many chickens, 2 baby chicks, 1 duck, a bearded dragon and many fish. Wow! What a petting zoo :)

The boys have never ridden on horses before - so this was a big day for them.

Aunt Louise even taught them a little bit about horses. It was very cool.

I remember riding her horses when I was little.

Genevieve didn't mind touching him, but sitting on the horse was totally out!

Tyler and Hayden both got pooped on by the baby chicks. Yuck!

My cousin, Josh, barbecued dinner for us and Cierra showed us how her pet duck plays tag with her. Very entertaining! Another great memory made! Thanks Aunt Louise for sharing your animals with us! Tyler left wheezing and I left with the sneezes. I'm so allergic to cats and Tyler has asthma, so this is definitely a place we can't be at for more than a few hours, but it was all worth it!
It has been a few years since we have visited the Children's Museum in Stockton. It was just as fun as Tyler remembered it. I think Genevieve's favorite area to play in was the grocery store.
Here she is baking bread with Grandpa Tunquist.

Hayden had fun in the deli. He made many sandwiches, hot dogs and burgers.

Yummy.....I think he would make Daddy proud =)

The magnetic wall was another favorite. Even Grandpa had fun creating new paths for the balls to follow.

Here they are being news casters. Tyler told us the weather beautifully.

My Hayden made a cute little fireman.

Tyler was the driver.

Nice face painting skills. The boys painted their own faces. Then Grandpa let them paint his face. However, Grandpa washed it off before leaving while the boys wore it very proudly the rest of the afternoon.

Genevieve even got her face painted.

We had a great time. After the museum we went to lunch at California Pizza Kitchen. The Gorgonzola salad that I usually order was no longer on the menu, but they were so nice to make it for me anyway. Yum! We then returned back to our temporary home to fill up water balloons and play with water guns. Thanks Grandpa for the fun day!

Jelly Belly Factory

We took a little drive out to Fairfield to the Jelly Belly Factory. We waited in a long line for an hour before taking the tour. Genevieve had fun pretending to eat all the jelly beans she saw through the window. The boys loved all the machines. The were amazed at all the huge bags of sugar that's used to make these yummy treats.

It was another fun day on vacation!
