leaving room for improvement

I love it when Genevieve lets me girly her up for church on Sundays. However, last Sunday she was determined to paint her own nails. So, I covered up her dress with an old towel and pulled out the camera because this was going to get interesting.

Not bad for a first timer.

Then, of course, she had to pick out the darkest red I have for her fingernails. Which, when applied by a three year old, looks a little like blood clots.

I'd have to say, she did a pretty good job.

It's that time of year again.....

Can you believe it? I have a 2nd grader and a 5th grader. Crazy!

I figured I'd better take some photos of this special day.

Aren't they so handsome?
They're not only handsome....
They're also a bit goofy....

And I LOVE them for it!

our summer

Well, I'm a little behind. So, here's our whole summer in one post.

Are you ready for a load of photos?

Genevieve practiced skateboarding.

Wayne played lots of softball.
We went hiking.

With friends.

Apparently, the kids didn't want to take a photo......

Except for my always photo ready Hayd.

We spent time swimming with cousins.

And shot off fireworks down by the river.

Got creative with sparklers.

Took a trip to California. We stopped off at the temple.

Where we took time to enjoy the view.

And smell the flowers.

We tried to pose for a photo or two.....

but chose to play air guitars instead.

We enjoyed popsicles

And spending time with the Great Grandparents.

We played lots of baseball through out the entire summer.

And many other outdoor games.

We loved hanging out with cousins!

As well as eating some of the most amazing BBQ cooked by my brothers.

We took a not so very relaxing pedal boat ride.

We took some time to kiss a frog.

and kill it....oops.

poor frog

We made sure to fit in more swimming.

And a little show off time.
Here's a close up of the kids. They're in awe.

Unfortunately, there were a few belly flops.

But not too many.

Our girl learned to swim.

We took our first trip out to the lake.

And wondered why we haven't been out there before.

It was beautiful!

Last but not least, we created our own bubble...
In our jammies. It was quite exciting.

The end.
