Another idea from the Family Fun magazine.
I took the boys over to Home Depot and picked up all kinds of supplies. We then came home and spent a lot of time creating then playing then creating some more.
Tyler noticed that the funnel was overflowing.......so he used a spray nozzle to help squirt out some of the water. Good thinkin' Tyler!
Genevieve thought this cap looked a little like a drinking fountain.
I left for a baby shower and came home to see that Dad had helped to created an even bigger and better water area. He found some cool things like a hose attachment and something that will direct the water in another direction when turned. The boys learned a great lesson while I was gone........Dads are much cooler than Moms.
You can't really see where the water is shooting out in this next photo, but Tyler had it shooting out the top and sides of the pipe. It was just like something that you would find at the splash pad. So fun!
By the way, did you notice the blue bird feeder in the background of some of the photos? That was designed and built by my cutie pie Hayden. This morning I saw 5 bids eating out of it at the same time and 2 more birds on the fence...waiting for their turn? or watching out for trouble? I'm not sure, but Hayden sure has attracted many birds to our yard with his feeder. He decided not to put a roof on the house in the middle so that he could fill it with building supplies for the bird's nests. My Hayden....what a clever and thoughtful fella.
AWESOME!!! You are SO helping your kids on the long run right now by making projects like this fun but the things they are learning right now will SO help them out in the future! You have some amazing future engineers and architects growing up in your family!!! Great job!!!
ReplyDeleteThat looks soooo neat.
